About Us
Laughing Dog’s Natural Complete Dry is a brand new dog food, which we make with the health and happiness of the dog in mind.
Our oven baked recipes are created with a perfect balance of completely natural ingredients such as farm grown oats and barley, peas, carrots and linseed oil and even the odd potato!
There is something for every dog, from puppies to more senior citizens, all individually created to meet the specific needs of your dog.
We’ve made the golden kibbles less regular in shape and size, so they take a little longer to eat than most other dry dog foods and therefore help to improve digestion, especially for dogs that tend to bolt their food down.
And even though we grow wheat on the farm, we only use oats and barley in Laughing Dog, which means that even dogs sensitive to wheat can enjoy our food.
The good stuff doesn’t just make Laughing Dog nutritious though, it also means it’s totally delicious. Oven baking the delicious ingredients adds an extra crunchy texture, which we know dogs absolutely love. And just to top it all, the kibble’s wobbly edges help keep teeth clean too!
Happy and Healthy
Nearly all dog food in the UK is manufactured using a high temperature, rapid extrusion process; meaning a lot of the goodness and flavour of the original ingredients is lost in production.
We take so much care growing and selecting our natural ingredients’ we don’t want any of the lovely taste or wholesome nutrition lost along the way.
So, we make Laughing Dog Natural Complete using a totally different cooking method. All our food is oven baked - a slower, more gentle way of cooking, which retains more of the goodness and taste of the nutritious and delicious natural ingredients, meaning nothing artificial needs to be added.
Laughing Dog is also hypoallergenic - containing no wheat, soya or dairy. As there are many dogs that are sensitive to these ingredients, we felt this was really important.
This proved to be a big challenge as the slow baking method we prefer really needs wheat to help release the final product from the cooking mould.
A refined recipe took many trials and long hours in the bakery to perfect, and for a long time, we were not actually sure it was possible. It is now our best-kept secret as we are the only Complete Dog food to be oven baked AND 100% natural and hypoallergenic.
Made differently - Oven baked Goodness
On Sunday 18th July we held our annual Companion Dog Show and Open Day. The day, held at the company’s headquarters Fold Hill Farm was to raise funds for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and Keith’s Dog Rescue – we raised nearly £2,000 for our charities.
The show included Pedigree and Novelty Classes with categories for all kinds of dogs be they show dogs or just your average happy mongrel. Each class had an award for ‘Best in Show’.
Brian Allen of Fold Hill Foods, said: “As dog lovers this day celebrates our beloved four legged friends and we can’t wait to meet the county’s ‘Most Handsome Dog’ or the one with the ‘Waggiest Tail’!
“It was a great day; there was a dog obedience display, free samples of our newest dog food, factory tours, competitions, produce stalls and a BBQ so there was plenty for everyone to enjoy!”
The competition was held under Kennel Club Regulations and was overseen by Championship Show Judge Sue Breeze.

Discover Dogs, organised by the Kennel Club, London’s biggest event on four legs, is returning to town on 13 and 14 November as the grand finale of London Dog Week. This year, we will once again be welcoming children under 12 into the doggy extravaganza for free, making this a day out that the whole family can enjoy.
Discover Dogs is a unique platform to celebrate dogs in our society and educate dog lovers about more than 200 breeds of pedigree dog, which will be at the event for visitors to meet, greet and fall in love with.
Four breed rescue societies will be featured each day, with their dogs and amazing stories of these unsung heroes who the Kennel Club supports. They are also joined by many of the main canine and animal welfare charities, The Metropolitan Police and their puppies and of course lots and lots of healthy, happy dogs!
