The Story

The Grant family has farmed the land at Fold Hill in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside for over 80 years... man and boy.

Ted Grant OBE, still our company chairman today, started making pet food over 30 years ago, with the straightforward idea of not wasting any of one particularly abundant harvest. He bought a small oven and baked the freshly harvested grain into simple dog biscuits. Little did he know what he had started!

Since then Ted has gone on to be awarded an OBE for services to agriculture and sons James and Andrew have taken over the day-to-day running of the farm and business. Of course we are slightly bigger now and have the help of over 120 local people who farm the land, create highly nutritious recipes and look after the farm bakery where all our Natural Complete is made.

In 2009, we bought Laughing Dog a struggling, but long-standing company, with the aim of re-launching the Laughing Dog brand. We called the project 'Pride' - as we wanted to create a brand and a range of products that would truly represent our many years of experience, our love of the countryside and our dedication to keeping dogs both happy and healthy.

We hope new Laughing Dog Natural Complete is all of those things. Made from a perfect balance of 100% natural ingredients, such as farm grown oats and barley, peas, carrots and linseed oil, we have kept true to the traditional oven baked cooking method that Ted worked so hard to perfect.

We launched the new Laughing Dog range at our very own dog show at the farm.
